Corvus Corax : Cantus Buranus Das Orgelwerk - CD
Ref: 18632
The organ work 'Cantus Buranus-Das Orgelwerk' unites the joy of playing and the minstrelsy of the 'kings of the minstrels' Corvus Corax, who adapted the compositions of Cantus Buranus for the organ on this album. The CD will be released in an elaborately designed ecole book with an embossed synthetic leather and gold foil embossment, a 24-pages booklet with in-depth information on the history of the organ as well as an introduction to the Medieval manuscripts of 'Carmina Burana' and a portrait of Bernard Fabuljan, who had already orchestrated parts of 'Cantus Burnus II' and brilliantly conducted the concerts. Fabuljan made use of his long-time experience as an organist to arrange an assortment of both 'Cantus Buranus' operas and played the organ himself for the recordings in the Passionskirche in Berlin. The result is a kaleidoscope of new organ music breathing in the vibrant spirit of Corvus Corax, at the same time, howerver, committed to the traditions of classic organ play. The music of the kings of the minstrel played on the queen of the instruments: That's Cantus Buranus - Das Orgelwerk!
